Start a new league. Anyone with a 10,000+ seat arena and say 20 million cash can have a team. Have tiers with say 24 teams in each league. You do well you move up the next year, poorly you go down. Let the market dictate the salaries and let the players go where ever they want and sign for what ever they can bargain for. All contracts are honored thought the league. Sign a 20 year deal with benefits and retirement package or a game by game deal. Anyone who wants a team pays the set franchise fee and starts in the bottom tier league.
Why don't the players look at de-sertifying like they did in the NBA it seemed to get the ball rolling. |

Here's hoping most of the rest of the '10 cup champion teammates can show up. How cool would it be to see big Buff too.
I cannot wait. It'll be cool to see 'Hawks players of that caliber on AllState ice.
And sweaters being provided by ChiTown legendary store Gunzo's; whom until the NHL licensing deal a couple decades ago, was the 'Hawks official sweater provider.
